Volunteering With KVGSA
Thanks for considering joining us on the field! Whether you have softball experience, or if you are brand new to the sport, we'd love to have your help in making our programs successful!
Here are the requirements you'll need to complete before joining our team this season - please email our coach/volunteer coordinator with any questions and to provide updates on your progress at coaches@kvsoftball.ca
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (if you have done this within the last 3 years this step can be skipped)
- This can be done through your local Police Department. Note: when requesting a Vulnerable Sector Screening the CRC will also be done, there is no need to have 2 separate checks.
- Register using the volunteer link with Softball NB
- You will need to create a RAMP profile this is your 1st year, the membership/insurance is $10 payed via credit card to Softball NB
- There will be an option when registering as a volunteer on RAMP to enter your CRC and VSS with dates yourself. Alternatively you can forward your forms to coaches@kvsoftball.ca
- Complete courses
- Create an account/login to "The Locker" to complete courses through the Coaching Association of Canada
- Complete the Safe Sport course (can be found under E-Learning in the Multi-sport section). This is a free course, takes approximately 1 hour
- Complete the Foundations of Coaching Softball 1 & 2 courses (can be found under E-Learning in the Softball section)
- $25 reimbursable from KVGSA

- For our A & AA travel team coaches, Softball Canada's Competition Introduction Clinic is comprised of 2 weekends of training:
- Courses are scheduled by Softball NB and are open to anyone who wishes to participate.
- Teams wishing to compete at a Provincial or an Eastern Canadian championship must be accompanied by a coach who has received their Comp Intro training.
- There is a cost associated, but often participants in our Region (4) are partially refunded
- Note: Only one coach per team is required to have this certification completed (for A and AA teams)
